Reforma civilního procesu
(Department of Civil Law)
The basis of the legal regulation of the Czech civil procedure is already for more than fifty years the Civil Procedure Code from the year 1963. This code originated in different socio-political circumstances, and was originally based on completely unacceptable ideological concept. After a whole series of amendments the Civil Procedure Code is today completely confusing and unsatisfactory in many ways. The poor state of the Civil Procedure Code causes not only interpretation and application difficulties, but also negatively affects the legal thinking of many practitioners. The only possible solution is the adoption of an entirely new Civil Procedure Code. The first step towards this goal has made a proposal, which was presented to the public in November 2017. The purpose of the Conference is to continue the discussion of this proposal. The welcome enrichment will be contributions that will present a foreign experience with the reform of the civil procedure.
